work on unity 5.2.5f1 personal
the best practice might be. for every test feature first. create separet project free from your targeted projects and everything to speed up process of testing exact this feature, and for polishing it and prototyping and then in dublicated project that you target add it test, work on integrating finaly when hapy with result push it to original project, BUT as always BACK UP FIRST!!!
(it's not dpecial to unity, it's good practice everywhere, x-power thought)

5.2.5 start coding only in AkelaPad
but in 3-4 days slowly crawled into welcome enviroment of MonoDevelop. ))

most not ordinary for me is and was in Unity 5.2 : -ading code and how make it work with game objects -loading scen, url -menu making -img animation -camera -sliders -animation control -adding animation on button press .... and some otjer topics. I'll try to cover in step by step examples. not realy titorials, more co/y or do this and it will work. -with some explanation.
